In order to produce a great marketing strategy, I sit down with all my clients and do a complete analysis of their company and / or brand. After thoroughly going through everything, I would figure out what their goal is, and the type of audience they are trying to reach, and the type of resources that they have.
After doing such analysis, I would need to help them understand what social media is. And what they be missing in their current strategy. Then I would give them a complete lists of things that I plan on doing for them, and how I would approach each and everyone of those step. I believe in empowering my client with knowledge, because at the end of the day. I am not just doing the work, but I am representing my clients name and brand.
The next part of the strategic plan is to inform my clients of the good and the bad about social media. And what is the limitation of social media and what is the potential it can bring to the business. There are many factors that affect the outcome of social media marketing, empowering your client with knowledge before hand prevent “outcome shock”.. helping them to not over estimate and or under estimate the outcome from the marketing strategy.
Next, I would sit down and do a complete analysis of the market in which the client is approach and tell my client whether it is worth going down the route he / she chose or not. Some part of the market is already populated with materials that it will be hard to bypass the mass. Instead of just leaving the scene, I would provide clients with alternative and help them approach the clients that they want to approach and help move conversations between the customer and the business.
the next part of the approach is attacking the scene. People who are new to the niche, would go all over the board, posting and marketing everywhere. They think that the more information that is out there, the better the return. But they are dead wrong. The approach is to get it right in a niche from the beginning and build up from there. It may be slow at first, but if your niche is 100% sound, then the return would be greater in the end.
next is taking over the territory. After you’ve come up with the strategy, you will need to attached it with some action. So posting and building a fan database. The bigger the database the better. This database will ultimately be the drive you need to increase results on your marketing plan.
They always say that if you start out right, there is less to think about at night. So do the right thing and fight … for the things you believe in. Never go into any arena without having the right strategy to WIN.
